Online webinar “The Road to Riyadh: UNCCD COP16”, prepared on the eve of the 16th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity LLC (COP16, October 21 - November 1, Cali, Colombia) and the 16th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (COP16, December 2-12, Er-Riyadh, Saudi Arabia).

The webinar was organized by the UN Global Compact (UN GC) in partnership with the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD).

Participation in the webinar was available to all participants of the UN Global Compact and provided a unique opportunity to learn more about the upcoming Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity and the Session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention to Combat Desertification. During the webinar, experts commented on how companies can contribute to the restoration of degraded lands and take action to address the problems of global drought, food shortages and rising energy prices.

The theme of the webinar contributed to the 10th anniversary of the United Nations Ecosystem Restoration.
