World Water Week

World Water Week is an annual event dedicated to global issues of water resources management, climate change and the implementation of the Sustainable Development Agenda. World Water Week has been held annually since 1991 under the auspices of the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI).

This year's theme was "Bridging Borders: Water for a Peaceful and Sustainable Future".

During the week, the participants discussed the role of the Earth's water resources on the path to sustainable development, in international security and conflict prevention. Within the framework of World Water Week, more than 300 sessions were held on the following topics: ecosystems, food security, transboundary water resources, human rights and water supply, and sanitation (WASH). During these sessions, experts, scientists, representatives of business and government agencies shared their experiences and solutions to improve water resources management.

The objectives of the event were:

• Raising awareness: discussing global challenges related to water resources

• Exchange of experience and knowledge: participants, including experts, scientists, representatives of Governments and non-governmental organizations, share best practices and innovative solutions

• Highlighting the Sustainable Development Agenda: developing and promoting strategies for the sustainable use of water resources and ensuring their accessibility for all

Participation was possible both in person (paid) and online (free) format.
