Sakhalin Energy Investment Company Ltd. (Sakhalin Energy) is developing the Piltun-Astokhskoye oil field and the Lunskoye gas field off the north-eastern coast of Sakhalin. Its activities include production, transportation, processing, and marketing of oil and natural gas.

Sakhalin Energy implements a deliberate Sustainable Development Policy. Sakhalin Energy has become the first Russian company selected by the United Nations to participate in the new platform for Corporate Sustainability Leadership — the Global Compact LEAD within the framework of the UN Global Compact. The Global Compact LEAD unites more than 50 companies which are renowned leaders in the field of corporate social responsibility.

Sakhalin Energy Named Among the Most Active Global Compact LEAD Participants

As announced at the UN Global Compact Leaders Summit 2018 on September 24, Sakhalin Energy was called among the highest-engaged participants of Global Compact LEAD – the largest leadership programme on corporate sustainability under the framework of the UN Global Compact.

Global Goals Yearbook 2018 of the UN Global Compact (previously Annual Best Practice Connection) has been released. Its major topic is a new form of partnership between the public and the private sector as well as the civil society, boosted by the SDGs and Paris Climate Agreement, and to the way in which these new partner relations can influence achieving the Global Goals.

On November 27 – 29 2017, Russian delegation under the aegis of the UN Global Compact Russian Local Network was for the first time officially presented in business and cultural section of the UN Forum on Business and Human Rights in Geneva.
